Meet Edward Bawa, Energy Policy Expert & Advocate for Global Change

Edward Abambire Bawa is a distinguished energy policy expert and communications professional, currently serving as the Member of Parliament for Bongo Constituency, Ghana.

Over Two Decades of Expertise

Edward has held pivotal roles, including Head of the Communication Unit at the Ministry of Energy and as a communications consultant for the World Bank’s Oil and Gas Capacity Building Project for six years. Edward has extensive experience in energy policy analysis, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement, having been instrumental in drafting and amending energy-related legislation. His leadership is also reflected in his work on various parliamentary committees, such as Communications, Mines and Energy, and Poverty Alleviation. Prior to his current role, he worked at the Food and Drugs Authority, ensuring regulatory compliance in the food and drug sectors, and served as Administrative Manager for the Ghana Football Association.

His academic credentials include an MBA from the University of Liverpool and a Bachelor’s in Chemistry from the University of Cape Coast. He has also undertaken numerous professional development courses on petroleum revenue management, project development, and risk communication, among others.
